December 17, 2006:
BBQ with Sheenabea & friends
Todays weather was amazing for mid-December (sunny and in the 50s) and brought a good 15+ MINI turnout for Sheenas little drive & lunch …
Many MINIs, and a classic Mini, met early in Boston for a short drive around town:

Sheena led us down Newbury Street which was more of a slalom course around double parked vehicles than a road - but fun and entertaining for passers-by …

Then we headed to Famous Daves BBQ on Route 1, Saugus, where we collected more MINIs …

The restaurant was very welcoming, and the food was impressive (except I recommend the chicken and not the rib tips!):

After lunch we parked the MINIs together and took more pictures; the Famous Daves BBQ truck came over to pose with us too!

We were also visited by Joel & Brig, who popped down from nearby MINI of Peabody to say “hi”:

A great day, with great weather, meeting great friends and eating great food - what more could you want?! Thanks Sheena for organizing the day, and thanks everyone that showed up and made it great
As if there’s not already enough on this page, my Gallery has loads more pics, and with cameras everywhere there will be lots more pictures soon … I’m hopeful that Brian got some good “from above” shots, and Peter & Josh always take great pictures … or visit the MINI2 thread for some after-event chat …
UPDATE:
Be sure to check out Brians pics on Flickr - especially this “aerial view”

Nothing fantastic, but I did put a few up on Flickr

Is it odd the only events I organize revolve around food of some kind? (Apples being the other one…)

Sorry we couldn’t make it. The pix look terrific!

Great pictures, Ian. I was lucky to be within your various lines-of-sight to be in those shots. (Please excuse my wrecked front bumper - a new one goes on next spring.) I should have a few shots of GPMINI in action for you…
