MTTS day 6 - Sunrise at Cadillac Ranch

In the night, I realized that Cadillac Ranch is just a few miles away, so headed out this morning to take pics - but it was quite dark with sunrise still 20 minutes away …

Nevertheless, I took pics of Cadillac Ranch and some came out OK:

    Hi, Ian –

Went over to see you off from Amarillo, but from the pics above I now know why we couldn’t find you among all the other MTTSers. Been following your progress and picked up on your comment about 93 octane gas. I was always concerned about not being able to get 93 octane in Amarillo until a petroleum engineer told me that octane ratings are a function of altitude, not quality, i.e. higher altitude, lower octane. When I was in Santa Fe this summer the highest I could find was 89 as I recall. I have a pic of you in front of the Blue Sky mural. I’ll send it to your email address.

    Safe motoring!
