July 5, 2006:
MINI Takes The States
Have you heard about MINI Takes The States - the biggest ever USA gathering of MINIs?

The event is 15 days of driving, from west coast to east coast, with some MINIs (including GPMINI) driving the whole route, many more MINIs joining up and dropping out all along the route, and events planned for most overnight stops, including:
MINI Rocks The House in Las Vegas
500 MINI movie night in Amarillo (and a second one in Charlottesville)
MINI music festival in Nashville
Cardinals / Marlins baseball tailgate party in St. Louis
Giant Wrap Party in Jersey City
Sounds interesting?
Well, you have LESS THAN TWO WEEKS to sign up! You must register for each leg of the event that you want to participate in, you must register yourself and every passenger, and you must register by July 17th!
So check your calendar, get over to the official MINI Takes The States website, and register now!
Already some legs (Monterey to Santa Barbara, Santa Barbara to Las Vegas, Charlottesville to Washington DC, Washington DC to Jersey City, Jersey City to Lakeville) have over 500 sign-ups - and more than 100 people are signed up for The Full Coast-To-Coast Fandango!
All along the route, local MINI club are organizing groups to join in with MINI Takes The States - check your local club, or see the club links on my day by day event breakdown for more info.
Hope to see you there!

Too bad they don’t try going all the way to boston. When they come to CT, it will be midweek, so tough for many of us to attend.
Take lots of pictures for us!
Thankfully we get to live vicariously through you, Ian!

See you there Ian.

yeah, too bad they aren’t coming close enough for me to watch everyone go by.

Ian,
Do you know if they have blocked rooms at the Hyatt in Jersey City? Where will the party be? Do we get a registration packet?
PS. I think MINIUSA needs to take some tips from MoT and other events.

MINI USA have no rooms block booked except for their own use - as it says (wrongly in my opinion) on the MTTS website, MINI USA has no connection with the event!
There will be a “registration package” mailed to everyone that’s signed up, apparently including wrist bands to allow access to the organized events.
And MINI USA / R.A.Events did attend MINIsOnTop to get some hints
