GPMINI awaiting transport
I haven’t quite figured how much separation there will be between the GBMINI and GPMINI websites, and (on the GPMINI website) between GPMINI and general GP stuff … but anyway:

… along with a few other GP owners-to-be - we actually think this status change reflects the cars arriving in USA, rather than being ready to ship from the factory (as it would mean for cars built in Oxford) … otherwise, four weeks to get the car from Italy to California is going to be very challenging!

Okay, so I’m confused. Did you order a GP Ian? Is GPMINI also you then? Sorry for not keeping up.

Yes, I ordered a GP. Yes, GPMINI.net is my site too
It was a low profile event initially, due to my activity with MINIsOnTop

Awesome. I presume you will keep both MINI’s - one for fun and investment and one for fun only. I considered ordering a GP as well being a limited run, etc. But logistically it is problematic living in Chicago with limited space - no room for three cars. Plus, convincing my wife of the value would have been hard so I fantasized for a moment and then let it pass. I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts of the GP. Looks like you’ll get your JCW fix afterall, and the grand-daddy of JCW at that! Good luck and Congrats.

As I recall, the west coast trip goes through the Panama Canal, I bet it will be real interesting tracking the ship through there!
Are you getting ‘GPMINI’ plates?
Chris

Chris,
Yes, the GPMINI plates were ordered long ago and have been held at the DMV for a month - can’t get them till the car is registered in MA …

Well, I was wrong about the cars already being on USA soil!
