More bass for the HK equipped MINI

Shankrabbits Claire website (owned by Ben) has put up a great article on adding an extra amp and subwoofer to the HK system.
There are many owners that complain there is too much bass in the HK system - but there are as many that think there is not enough (I was one when I owned GBMINI#2).
I tried (and failed) to have GBMINI#2 upgraded (the Terrible Tweeter experience), but the non-HK upgrade on GBMINI#3 is great.
But other people have successfully added to the HK amp / speakers - for example Paul (see here); and now Ben adds more possibilities for people that aren’t happy with the HK.

As always, I strongly recommend that before you buy a MINI, you take your favourite CDs and listen to them in an HK equipped MINI if you are thinking of getting the upgrade - the package is good value and an easy way to get a significant improvement over the stock system, but it makes further upgrades very tricky if you decide the HK is not enough)
