March 20, 2006:
MINIsOnTop attendance
A quick experiment tonight, prompted by Josh Wardell; I used the same TIGER map functions that I used long ago to map MINI circuits, to map where MINIsOnTop attendees are coming from:

This map was created with the url http://tiger.census.gov/cgi-bin/mapgen/.gif?lat=36&lon=-96&wid=50&ht=24&iht=460&iwd=800&murl=http://www.MINIsOnTop.com/mot2006/MOTzipcodes.txt; looks complicated - but it works!
If you prefer, we can zoom in to just North East USA with this url: http://tiger.census.gov/cgi-bin/mapgen/.gif?lat=42&lon=-75&wid=14&ht=11&iht=600&iwd=700&murl=http://www.MINIsOnTop.com/mot2006/MOTzipcodes.txt - but then we’d miss seeing the few MINI folks coming from far far away.
Like Sandy & Joe, coming from Wyoming! According to Google Maps, about 2300 miles assuming they drive direct … I hope they have fun ![]()

Wish I could be there but can’t afford the trip and who knows if my MCS will be done by then, plus it’s about 3300 miles…1 way. It would be kool to be the farthest on that the map though…maybe one year I’ll make it.

Ian, will your Dad be over again this year? He won the distance last year as I recall…..I think I also remember an Idaho plate that I took a pic of last year, no show so far eh?….

No, I don’t expect my Dad this year. But I have some small hope for a visitor from that land
