August 1, 2005:

Happy Birthday Ed

If we had not lost Ed (”MaxaMINI”) last week, it would have been his birthday today … in tribute it has been suggested that today his friends “float a duck” so I have bought some ready:

On the way home tonight I stopped at Silly Goose Toys to see what ducks they had, and found this wonderful little guy:

(he will not be going swimming tonight!)

They also had some tiny little ducks at $1 a piece, so I grabbed a handful to carry around and hand out to duckless MINI owners …

So tonight we headed out to Gloucester breakwater, to “free the ducks” into the ocean:

When we saw a real duck swim out from the breakwater, we decided this was the spot to release the tribute ducks …

One duck happily landed right way up, and drifted slowly away into the evening …

Ed, we will miss you …

    Happy Birthday Ed!
