The Unofficial Austin Rover Web Resource

What an amazing web site this is!
I reached it following a link from MINI2, where someone was asking about the designer of the new MINI. The information about the new MINI may just be a repeat of what I have read in New MINI and elsewhere, but it is well presented and not full of the anti-BMW sentiments found on some Mini web sites.
But check out the other great pages on that site too; for example Brief History Of An Icon (about the Mini), or MGB/MGC history

It’s a shame that MG/Rover has closed it’s doors. I did my Manufacturing Engineering degree in Birmingham and I lived about 1/2 a mile from the Longbridge plant. But it’s not that surprising when their ‘answer’ to saving the company was to sell off the profitable finance arm to the 4-man management consortium for ₤1, sell them the car company for ₤10 and then let them launch an ₤80,000 “supercar” when the bread and butter cars are all 20 year old Honda derivatives. I don’t know who they thought would buy the XPower SV - the fans of ‘Fast & Furious’ style extreme bodykits don’t usually have 80K and TVR does a much more cohesive job of extreme designs IMHO.

It will be interesting to see if there are any repercussions to the PVH management; but probably they will get away with it [maybe they did nothing wrong ;) ]
