March 15, 2005:

Gone …

So GBMINI#3 has been delivered to Sublime Restorations to have its roof painted with a big “S”.
I am happy & confident in leaving Julian & Scott to finalise the car and get the design “balanced” on the roof - they did a fabulous job on the Union Jack of GBMINI#2.

So no pics or updates while I am in Las Vegas & California - unless Josh Wardell gets some pics from Julian and puts them up on his site or on the Sublime site.
Otherwise, I hope Julian takes some “during” pics, so that I have some interesting stuff to post when I return.

    I don’t plan on being at Sublime till the 28th to drop my own MINI off, but I’ll be sure to take some photos if I can.

    Thanks Robert - I’ll be humming that tune on the flight tomorrow ;) Might be closer still to your home sometime soon; Margaret has a target of San Diego at the moment, but who knows we might try LA as well.

    Come on down…..anytime. We are going to do some of our parks this year in May for 3 weeks and I will be gone to Holland in June-July but other than that always glad to have company. I also have a daughter in SD………RB

    It looks great! (I even like the look with the water beading on it too!) Julian said he took shots during the process so we will have more to see soon.

    Nice shots Josh, the roof looks nice. Sublime really did a great job making the ‘S’ stand out and look almost 3D. In my opinion though I would have like to have seen the ‘S’ a little larger.

    RB - I CANNOT BELIEVE THE TRAFFIC in Los Angeles; I see you are not right in the middle but even so … Margaret navigated me to Venice Beach (where there was too much people traffic) then tried to find the “walk of fame” but failed; from there right in the center of LA it took crazy numbers of hours to get out as far as San Bernadino, then we escaped up the mountain. Never again.

    UKPylot, Sorry I did not see this before. Maybe I need to buy a laptop - liked the San Diego zoo :)
