The new “S” design on the roof of GBMINI#3 is difficult to see from the ground (see the pics taken by Josh) so with good weather today I used the boom lift machine we have at work to get some pictures from above.
Here is the final picture I took:

(click more to see pics of the boom lift machine …)
Here is a sequence of pictures as the boom is raised – this machine can reach 45 feet but I kept the upper boom horizontal so only reached about 25 feet; nevertheless I was as high as the roof peak of two story buildings …

Wow what a difference some elevation and a beautiful sunny day makes. It looks spectacular!

So…….are you happy or still thinking about the GB#3 look?
My question would be……is the “S” coming up or moving forward? To me it seems as if it’s coming up out of the roof not moving with the roof.
Not to start anything but it seems poorly done…to me. Maybe it’s just the pics.
As I said before if you like it that is all that matters!

Robert,
The “movement” is not really what I was expecting, especially when you compare with the proposed design … but I am not sure if this is just the best possible execution, or if something else went wrong.

Ian, I am going to try and send you a Photoshop file of an “S” that you might like. It may be to large but I’ll try.

Ian, that looks sweet!
I’m so pleased you did “S” for Steve.
I appreciate the gesture.

It’s growing on me. Haven’t decided yet though.

My personal opinion is that it looks like something found on the side of a 1970′s Chevy van, not a classic car such as the MINI. It was a good attempt but just has too much of that tacky airbrushed look. I would try again.

Wow, when I saw the finished S, I couldnt imagine a better design, it looks great on the car! Then… I clicked on the “proposed S” …. another Wow! You are correct the proposed one looks much better…………

More recently, the “S” has been re-worked and now looks more like this.
